Equipping Library at Valmiki Ashram

Team Nanhi Jaan had installed the library almirahs and durries at a newly established library at Valmiki Ashram, Bapu Dham colony, Chandigarh in August 2022. On 10 September the team handed over close to 500 books to the library It was a humbling experience to see the conditions in which the not so privileged live and study in. To strive towards a socially equitable society many more such efforts are needed. Thank you to all those who contributed to the cause.

School uniforms etc for Govt School students

On August 9, 2022, Team Nanhi Jaan handed over 55 School uniform (Pant, shirt, belt, pair of socks and shoes) were to Govt. Primary School, Nagla. Seven cotton Patti for the use of students during lunch were handed over to Sanouli school. Mr Vinod Rawal, Col. Vijay Seth and Mr RK Sood were present on behalf of Nanhi Jaan.

First cheque of 2022 to fund tuition fee of senior school kids handed over to Vikas Nagar school

On May 11, 2022, we handed over the first cheque for ₹ 74,856 to the Headmistress, Government Model High School, Vikas Nagar, Chandigarh. This was part of our commitment to meet tuition fee of 96 class 9 & 10 children who could not afford to pay and thus many a times are forced to drop out of school. Nanhi Jaan is sponsoring education of these children for the academic year 2022-2023. The cheque was handed over by Nanhi Jaan team’s senior member Mrs Jagdeep Kaur. In the picture can also be seen some of the beneficiaries of this grant.

School dress for Govt school, Sanauli, kids

On April 21, 2022, we handed over  51 school dresses for LKG and UKG, which included pant, full sleeve shirt, belt, one pair of socks and one pair of shoes for each child of Govt Primary  School,  Sanauli, near Chandigarh.  On the same day, we also handed over three fans  to Govt. Elementary School, Gazipur, also located near Chandigarh. Team Nanhi Jaan was represented by Mr V.K. Rawal , Col Vijay Seth, Mr. R.K. Sood and Mr Satish Sharma.

Computer tables for Ghazipur school

A school with computers but no tables to place them on. Yes , that’s Govt School Gazipur. Farewell party at Ghazipur school

On April 6, 2022, Govt. Primary School Gazipur (near Chandigarh) arranged a farewell party for the graduating class 5 students. A cultural program was held in the School premises. On behalf of Nanhi Jaan a token of love (Pen) was given to all out going students. Prizes were also given to students of Class 1 to 5 who secured first and second position in the annual exams. All the 150 students were given a packet of biscuits each. Special  thanks go to Col. Vijay Seth, Mr R. K Sood and Mr Vinod Kumar Rawal of Team Nanhi Jaan for working hard and making the drive a success.

Three Ventilators donated to Dept of Paediatrics, GMCH 32

Continuing with the second phase of our Medical equipment drive, on April 6 2022,  Team Nanhi Jaan facilitated donation of three ventilators to Dept of Paediatrics, Govt Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32 Chandigarh. These were bought under a CSR grant from Corporate partners Paraxel International and Canam Consultants. With this we ventilators donated to GMCH-32 totals five. Each machine will help save 80-100 children annually. We thank all who have contributed towards the cause, supported and encouraged us in this journey and were there with us when we shouted out for help.

Machines donated to GMSH, Sector 16, Chandigarh

On 5th April 2022, following items were donated to the Department of Paediatrics, Govt Multi-speciality Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh: One unit of Medela Multiple User Electric Breast Pump Seven units of Syringe Infusion Pump Fresenius Kabi Azillia SP One unit of Sylvan Neonatal Vein finder Pediascan Model 100 These machines were bought with a grant from Paraxel, and the donation was facilitated by Nanhi Jaan and NGO partner United Ways.
