The start of the New Year brings with it new hopes, aspirations and a wish for a better tomorrow. In this spirit, Veeranwali Foundation, under Project Nanhi Jaan, took up the critical issue of neonatal mortality in GMSC-16.
The hospital was fac
ing an acute shortage of baby incubators and phototherapy units, and our team installed 14 units in GMSH 16. This has helped in considerably reducing mortality in this age group. The mortality rate is down from 12/1000 kids to 1/1000 kids after the supply of baby incubators.
A high-end ventilator, with an ABG machine worth ₹14 lakh, donated by Nanhi Jaan, a project of Veeranwali Foundation, was officially inaugurated on 7 January 2016 by Mr Anurag Aggarwal, Home Secretary, Chandigarh.
